Jaishankar, will represent the country at the event, having received an invitation from the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee.
During his visit, Jaishankar will also hold meetings with representatives from the incoming US administration, as well as other dignitaries attending the event. Japanese Foreign minister Takeshi Iwaya; Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong; and Jaishankar will have the opportunity to meet US Secretary of State nominee Marco Rubio on the sidelines of the inauguration.
"At the invitation of the Trump-Vance Inaugural Committee, External Affairs Minister (EAM) Dr. S. Jaishankar will represent the Government of India at the swearing-in ceremony of President-Elect Donald J. Trump,funph casino as he is inaugurated as the 47th President of the United States," the MEA stated.
India was originally set to host the Quad Summit last year but the event was shifted to the US due to President Biden’s inability to travel abroad while focusing on the presidential election.
