Australia survived a nervy chase to beat Bangladesh by two wickets in match No. 9 of the ICC Women's Under-19 T20 World Cup 2025 at YSD-UKM Cricket Oval in Bangifc188, Malaysia on Monday, January 20.(More Cricket News)

After restricting Bangladesh to 91/9 in 20 overs, the heavyweights from Down Under made heavy weather of the chase. The semi-finalists in the inaugural edition did get off to a good start, reaching 50 in eight overs for a loss of two wickets. Then they lost five for 26 runs in the next eight overs, including the wicket of skipper Lucy Hamilton.

But Ella Briscoe held one end with a patient 22-ball knock for her unbeaten 11 to help Australia escape with a two-wicket in the final over thriller. With the win, Australia (four points) have qualified for the Super Six with two wins in two. They had earlier defeated Scotland by nine wickets.
