It’s time for the ICC Awards 2024! As the cricket stars are recognized for their achievements throughout the year, the announcement of the awardees began on January 24 and will conclude on January 28. So far, six awards have been revealed in both the men’s and women’s categories. Let’s take a look at the winners! (More Cricket News)

Before we dive deeper, there are some shocking revelations coming out of the lists. One of them is the exclusion of any Indian player from the ICC Men's ODI Team of the Year. Despite finishing as runners-up in the 2023 Men’s World Cup, India failed to secure a spot in the all-star playing XIs for 2024. Apparently, the line-up is dominated by Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Afghanistan.

However, on the women’s side, India have two names to celebrate! Star batter Smriti Mandhana and all-rounder Deepti Sharma were both named in the ICC Women’s ODI Team of the Year 2024 on Friday.

On a brighter note, India still have made its mark in other award categories! Despite the recent Border-Gavaskar Trophy loss, the Men in Blue have secured three spots in the ICC Men's Test Team of the Year. The 23-year-old Yashasvi Jaiswal has earned his place, alongside Jasprit Bumrah, who remains No. 1 in the ICC Men's Test bowler rankings, and Ravindra Jadeja.

On January 24, Friday, the following three awards were revealed:

Hockey India on Wednesday (August 28) named an 18-member squad led by ace drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh for the tournament, with Krishan Bahadur Pathak expectedly being promoted to main goalkeeper duties following PR Sreejesh's international retirement.
